Ham is the second of Noah's three sons.

He was the son of Noah and brother of Shem and Japheth.

Ham married Naamah, daughter of Lamech and Zillah and sister to Tubal-Cain. While still an unmarried harlot, she called him "a regular customer," and his motivations for taking her as his wife were less than admirable, and- though he quoted his father's order to find a wife- disobeyed by marrying into Cain's line. Naamah, on the other hand, was under orders by her sister Lillith, later known as Morgan, to marry Ham so as to gain entrance on the Ark.

His first son, Canaan, was born on the Ark. However, due to a potion given to Naamah by Lillith, he was born a Naphil, identifiable only by an extra digit on each hand and foot. According to the Bible he was also the father of Cush, Mizraim, and Phut, but they are not seen in the books.

Because of Ham, Naamah was able to get aboard the Ark. At some point during the voyage Caanan was born. Ham conspired with Morgan, in the guise of a raven, thoughout the journey. He pretended to train the "bird" in tasks such as recognizing and fethcing different colors of olives, and used this fabricated training to convince Noah to send her out in search of something green after the Ark came to rest. Morgan didn't return; instead she tricked Naamah into becoming a wraith like herself. Naamah returned to the Ark with no one the wiser.
