Dr. Matthew Conner, sometimes referred to as "Doc" is a scientist and a main character in The Candlestone (book two of the first series). He is the father of Bonnie Silver and the husband of Irene Conner (Hartanna in human form). He works with Ashley Stalworth in synthetically creating long life, using photo-receptors found in Dragon's blood, but later switches to work on a Candlestone to help Devin. His underground lab is the main setting of The Candlestone and is featured on the front cover.
